News: Looking back to plan ahead - Commission launches phase one consultation on strategic plan

News submitted on 4th July 2011 11:02 by Andy McCarthy

Looking back to plan ahead - Commission launches phase one consultation on strategic plan Dear Colleague, Today the Commission is launching the first of three phases of the consultation to develop our next three-year strategic plan, which will be laid before Parliament in April 2012. Phase one looks at our Strategic Plan 2009-12 and how we have fared in keeping our promise about the ten things we said we would deliver. This will be followed by phase two, a 60 day consultation seeking views on our emerging priorities for 2012-15, in early autumn. The third and final phase, a 30 day consultation seeking views on our draft strategic plan, will commence in early 2012. Any strategic planning exercise involves tough choices. The Commission's budget settlement and the impact of socio-economic changes on our stakeholders and the vulnerable groups we're here to help means it's more important than ever that we use our resources to best effect and demonstrate value for money. We want your help in making these tough choices. We intend to actively involve as many people as possible in this process and see it as an open conversation with our stakeholders until we finalise our Strategic Plan 2012-15. Phase one of our consultation runs for 30 days and will close on 22 July 2011. We have published a questionnaire and supporting information online. To access and complete our consultation questionnaire, please visit our website. We look forward to hearing from you. Jackie Beer Director of Stakeholder Relations Equality and Human Rights Commission
